We gave my son the movie The Lion King for his 4th birthday and we decided to invite his friend over for a movie playdate to watch it. Before the movie, the boys made footprint lions. They are simple to make!
How to make a footprint lion:
- Make a yellow footprint.
- Paint a yellow tail.
- Make either brown or orange colored thumbprints (or fingerprints) around the heel. The heel is the head and the thumbprints are the lion's mane.
- Make a matching thumbprint at the end of the tail.
- After it dries, add eyes, nose, whiskers, and a mouth.
The boys also colored Lion King coloring pages.

This is adorable! My son is super into lions right now so we'll have to try this.
ADORABLE! I love it!
Thanks Michelle & Melanie! We also have a thumbprint lion of just the face in our archive that we made for a Madagascar movie playdate as well as a footprint lion plate & a cutout version of a traced foot. Here is the thumbprint one: http://funhandprintart.blogspot.com/2010/11/thumbprint-lion-hippo.html

That is so cute
That lion is pretty great. I will have to remember it this fall when we get back to some indoor activities in our playschool! My TGIF post is: http://likemamalikedaughter.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-tuesday-kale-chips.html
